from the hips on sale today!!

After three long years of intensive study, outreach, debate and pumping we are so thrilled to be able to say our book, From the Hips, is finally on the shelves! We're really happy with the way the book turned out, and we hope you like it, too. Also, if you ever filled out a survey at thenewmom.com check the book for your own words-- we used tons of real quotes from real parents to show the many ways pregnancy, birth and having a baby can go down.

Check back here for press info, we'll be coming to an ivory leather couch near you sometime very soon.

The book is great, and at 34 weeks pregnant, I barely have enough oxygen flowing to my brain to put together a cohesive review. I posted my thoughts at http://blog.rookiemoms.com.

Rookie Mom! Thank you! Your blog entry was entirely cohesive and made our day. Good luck with the next few weeks and then the next few weeks after that... We're so glad you liked the book.

I will go buy this book! I posted the link to it on my website, too. Yay! I'm a mom to a 2 year old and we are having another baby, too. So it has come in the nick of time...

Just finished the book and love it. I loved all the testimonials and quotes from real people to temper the factual info. I have recommended it to all the members of the google group that I run - MILF. Thanks for writing this book!

I just finished reading the book and LOVED it. The best part about reading your book was that I finally felt comfortable with being pregnant, even though I am only engaged, I'm only 21, I'm a senior in college, and my parents will not be happy. Yet I am still happy and comfortable with the idea. My fiance is my biggest supporter. He is even reading your book so he can understand why I want to cosleep and have attachment parenting. I also don't feel bad anymore when I have people give me "advice/opinions" and I don't use them or even think about them. My style of parenting is different because we are all different.

My only disappointment was I felt like an outsider to the world of parenting successfully because I am not married and still in college. (A lot of the comments seemed to be from married couples. Makes me wonder, where are the unwed single mothers? And, do I have any rights when it comes to school and parenting?)

I enjoyed your book so much I've already recommended it to my other pregnant friends. Thank you so much for writing it because it is worth all the hard work and time, it really is that amazing. :)
